Awesome thing # 17

thrice....


#1. Had lunch with 2 of my best buddies of one-time office. An ugly man and a beautiful damsel :) Had super awesome fun and perhaps the best lunch in the past 5 months after resignation. Wow!


#2. Met old friends from my past employer. Almost everybody on accident! Met my GM who offered me a job while puffing his cigarette. A bugger, who reminded me that i owed him a grand :P An old girl friend who might have had a crush on me some time ;) 2 of the coolest chaps of my team and my old school friend.


#3. Made peace with the college bugger who is getting married within a week. (I am a good man). 


@4. Made a new enemy in piyush, whom i could not meet because of 'valid reasons', but who saw me walking on the sidewalk with the old girl friend :P


all in all..a fuckin' A day..

Happiness has a limit..is it?

I now understand how those comedy theater and movie actors feel. They might be terribly sad, holding their tears but what they have to put on their faces is a smile..or worse a grin. 


So despite having a wonderful day today, in fact wonderful is a stoney word when the word best describing the wonderfulness of today should be mountainous, i have this feeling of emptiness i carry right now. You can not get everything you want is what i have learnt. You should learn to compromise is what i preach. and right now, i just hope this one wish of mine could come true. and i know it won't. it can't. and i need to compromise :( 


I cannot sail in 2 boats. ek ko to chodna hi padega. I just hope i leave the right one and the one i take, doesn't betray me. and even if it does, i hope it's well in time. cz otherwise, i will be screwed!!

and i came back from work with a beautiful girl sitting by my side in the most sucking Delhi Metro. I put the magazine i was reading aside and kept turning my head looking at her beautiful face and the cute haircut she was sporting. She didn't mind though..i hope so. I fell in love once again. Awesome! :)

Wow!


Let me begin this speech by thanking Nipun for not bringing his confused ass in Romit's car for our outing today. god bless his confused head and confused soul :)


What started with a beautiful rainy day with an absolutely marvelous weather in Delhi, and continued with us playing cricket (after a zillion years) at India Gate (with 3 ducks for me :P), nearly ended in a complete disaster of an evening for Nipun who specially came all the way from his home sweet 30kms away to help Romit get his car towed! Thankfully there was some beer just in time to save the night for all of us :)

Awesome thing # 14

I am a pretty superstitious chap in almost all matters involving me. So, when i got a client feedback of exceeding his expectations beyond what he had thought, i thought twice before posting this status on facebook. Now i see that this post is the awesome thing #13 and i am thinking again. The thing is, it happens to me all the time. I see success in something and happily i tell people about it and things turn awry right from the next moment onwards. Kind of bullshit isn't it..either my head or the whole happening itself.

Still, i do it always..hoping this fucking thing might stop one day. and i said it again. I felt good today because of that. Went for Cars2 and paid for a friend's ticket as well and spent the night at India Gate eating chuski and ice cream and listening to music feeling the cold breeze outside while somebody else drove. It was awesome!

Trust me, the most awesome thing in this world has to be a good, heart pumping, gut paining laugh..it stays with you for a lifetime. Of course, i am tempted to think that sex is the most awesome, but then till i do it i guess, it has to be a nice laugh :)

When you have a good hearty laugh with someone, you forget all the past tumultuous times, all the grudges and all the mishaps. You remember that laugh and keep that memory always. always :) and whenever you think of that moment, you feel awesome :)

A different sort of a high


There comes a moment in life, when its just you for yourself and nothing else matters. Though, this moment generally comes when you are listening to one of your favorite songs! So, while the drums roll and the guitar flutters you begin to stop thinking. and slowly things stop making sense or non-sense. Everything seems as it should be. In fact you actually stop caring anymore. Life becomes beautiful and so do people around you (except those with the bad odour, they remain as ugly).


You can compare this state as that of meditation (if you've tried that). you become aware of things and you stop becoming judgmental. its a high. its like you're sitting in a boat all alone and the flowing water is taking you to places, making you 'feel' and 'realize' life itself. its like you're flying. its like awesomeness!

Awesome thing # 9

My 1/15 minutes of fame

and i appeared on TV. appeared for a whole 5 minutes.. blabbered for 4 seconds. and the whole world watched! 

I have never watched this show. For a simple reason that i consider the practice copied from a medieval hindu epic of a princess choosing his prince from among a crowd of clown princes, crap! It all started with the wannabe starlet named sawant and in this 3rd season a female popularly known as Lali decided to step into the shoes. 

That one of my friends got selected to be one of the clown prince was his good luck. That while searching for his own 15 minutes of fame, he went as far as the final four and called me up to come and meet his would-be was my good luck. That all this meeting would be captured by 6 cameras and that i would be required to speak about my good friend sitting right next to me and that i would suddenly have this camera fright, was my bad luck! 

and so after the shot i didnt dare tell any living soul of what happened. but whoa!! India watches this stupid show and suddenly everyone notices me on the tv, when i myself am not watching. But, thanks to the director, who actually thought what a fool i was in front of the camera, chopping off most of me from the clips, my dignity remained and for strange and unknown reasons i was appreciated for whatever was shown of me.

and i felt awesome. Not for the parts which showed me on tv, but for the parts which were not shown :)

Awesome thing # 8

Now the only girl in this world who telephones me herself and talks to me at her own will is not going to foreign land. phew! was i not relieved to hear that this morning! The whole despair and the fear of becoming alone suddenly left me and i felt so light. The fact remains that we fight more than we talk. but then, atleast i have someone to shout at. Thank god!


Of course bad things continued throughout the day, like we lost a client - a motherfucker who thought we would make his resume for free and i got myself crammed in the metro in between sweaty souls and the worst of all, i couldn't go to play tennis even today.


But nonetheless, that was the first awesome thing for today.


The second one, was fried boiled eggs with fried spicy onions :)

Awesome thing # 7

The best thing about being an entrepreneur is that you are :D The second best thing is that you learn a lot. Every single day sees a new learning. About stuffs. About life.


So today i learnt about 2 things. 1 stuff, 1 life.

The stuff part is cooler and so i will say that first. I learnt how to make some awesomely cool presentations. Presentations which will blow the minds of your audience. Presentations which will bring your contemporaries to their knees begging you to teach them. Presentations which might even make the girls go weak for you. #sigh# i wish presentations could do that! But nonetheless, presentations which will make you feel really good. drumroll. Welcome Prezi.com. The world's coolest tool. It helps you create flash based presentations in such a simple manner that even your unborn kid could do it! Try it yourself. The supercool part is that in just one big canvas, you can put all your stuff and you dont even have to arrange it. Just select a timeline and everything falls right into place :)


The second thing i learnt about is that girls are assholes. Actually i didnt learn it. I knew it all along, it just got ratified today. They spoil lives. and one from the fraternity just spoiled a friend's. and i felt bad for him when i met him today. You see, we guys are pretty emotional. We might not show it, but we are. Girls..girls are assholes. I just told you! They dont have emotions. All they have are tears. People mistake them for emotions. They are bullshit tears and nothing more. and when a girl takes them out, the whole fuckin world is with her. For a man..there's just one thing. Just one. BEER!


So while my friend learned life's bitter lesson the hard way, we both had some beer. and that cheered everyone up.


and that was the awesome thing for today. hic. ;)

Rains!! :)


In the middle of a sun-burnt afternoon at 43 degrees, when it suddenly gets cloudy and windy and it drizzles like its never rained before, how do you feel? Awesome :D

Awesome thing # 5

I so so much want to go on a vacation man! I need work, a lot of it. and more than that, i need somebody to talk to. Fuck, everybody seems busy! and the worst part is nobody understands. :( I really wish my best friend Amit was here. Best friends are best friends after all. But that motherfucker is sitting in America for god knows what reason!


Well anyways, in the middle of this another boring day, i found a breather when my childhood friend called me up today. He's in delhi. Married now. So we caught up after about 5-6 months, played bowling at a nearby mall, had some chaat and coffee and ice creams and talked about stuff. In fact i beat him, na thrashed him in the bowling alley with a score of 107-57 :D I had a sizzler brownie as well. ;)


Guess, not that bad a day afterall :)

Awesome thing # 4

##sigh!## finally i am realising its not easy getting a new awesome thing everyday. Life is not that good!!
but i still found one for today :D


actually a lot happened today. Got a call from a student who was interested in using our services. and a previous lead got converted into a client. Then i worked on my new logo today afternoon. and my evening was spent in the company of some awemazing mouth bhwathering gol gappas.


and right now, its raining. awesome :)

Awesome thing # 3

Although ironical, it did not come as a surprise to me that after describing 2 awesome days, my today was the most un-awesome. It was bad as hell in fact.


Still, i got up in the evening and left home in search for awesomeness. and find it i did a 1000 metres away from my home in one of the gardens of shalimar bagh - my neighbourhood park where residents flock during evenings for walks and plays. 


after a couple rounds running and a couple of reps of warm-up, i lay in the grass and my ipod subsequent-ed on to the next song by GnR. Paradise City. and i looked up in the sky and there were the clouds and the moon - approaching its 15th day glory and i think i even saw an alien spaceship, yeah i think it was and the paradise city played as i lay in the grass and the cold wind blew.

Awesome thing # 2

We havent seen a client since last friday and things are in pretty bad shape. I have no clue what to do and no idea why people are just abandoning our services. Wish i had money..so i could hire Mc Kinsey and ask them to submit me a report on how to better things and increase reveues :P 


So with no work, I was rotting in bed since morning on this sunday afternoon. and it was pretty boring. specially since after last saturday's Hard Rock cafe and its unlimited booze which left me tight on 1400 bucks and a lot of embarrassment and of course a really bad hangover (i thought i would die), i decided that THAT WAS IT. No more booze, no more partying and no more spending money. But today at some point i actually thought why not go party once again! Though, thanks to my empty wallet, it didnt take much of a jiffy for the thought to remain, well just that, a thought :P


so i lay and i lay and i tried to sleep and i couldnt sleep and i woke up and i strolled in my balcony and on the terrace when God suddenly whispered in piyush's ears - "Go and Play Tennis with Rajat." and so this guy called me up and in a flash i could sence freshness in the stale evening. Off i took out my racket and off we went and I had an evening well spent. Played doubles against guys who actually knew how to play. and lost a match at a respectable 2-6, 4-6. In fact at one point we came back from 1-5 to 4-5. Serves were going good, but the best part..my forehand. Those 'players' couldnt pick even one. :D

Awesome things begin from today

Thanks to facebook and thanks to TED, I came to know of Neil Pasricha and 1000awesomethings.com. and thanks to my metro ride yesterday, i have decided to write about 1 awesome thing i experience everyday. I know i am not going to do it EVERYday, but wth, i will try.


Awesome thing # 1


It was Rashi R's marriage today. and she had cordially invited me. I had specially got a haircut for today cz i knew there will be some evs people (my previous employer) at the venue. and 'that girl'. but what i didnt know was that this would happen. 'That girl' called me up one day prior to the function and asked me how i would be going and will i be able to pick her up. what do you think my answer was :) btw, the fact is that i never had any good relations with her and in fact i used to hate her. but then before that i didnt. and after you've lost touch with people for a while, its the good things you think about, not the bad!


I picked up my dad's car and picked her up. all dressed in red and looking pretty gorgeous :P she sat at the front seat. I picked up 3 more ladies. so in all i was the lone male thing in the car with 4 beautiful damsels 8-)
We talked. Me n her. all the way to the venue. we shared our snacks. ate together. met the bride together. gave her a combined gift. came back together. talked all the way back. god knows about what not! 


Now i dont know why it happened and how it fell in place. But even if it was a setup and even if it was a lie and even if it was momentary, after i left her home, guess how i felt. pretty AWESOME :)
