pyar ke ' in' side effects..!

so, after a deep 11 month slumber, i'm back to the blogging world. let me teel u up first, its really difficult to write after not having written for so many days, months, infact its nearly an year..!! so, excuse me for my wrong grammar or usage. honestly speaking, i never intended to write again, but some events make u think hard and u come up with something interesting..and worth writing i guess..and of course there are the inspirational holidays, where in you've got nothing to do, so u end up writing..;)

so, i came up with my "3 stage theory...of love" or should i say my "3 stage thory in love"..! (dont miss the disclaimer and the note at the end guys)

so here is the broad outline of what the theory is all about..

when u fall in love, there are these 3 stages u need to go through. and unless u r thru with the last one, never ever think ur girl cant leave you!! she can, and most probably..will..!!

the first stage..INNOCENCE and IGNORANCE
this is when, a phenomenon called 'love at first sight' takes over common sense and an intelligent guy decides to do a very stupid thing called 'falling in love'..little does he realise that he is actually falling..! neways..he does and u never know whether the gal has fallen too or not..(i told u, u'd never know unless that last stage is over) so the love story begins but both of the lovers are not serious at this stage..they have something going on in their heads..but very little in their hearts, and noone is serious..
so if the gal or the guy breaks up..its all cool. nobody minds, and the thing is forgotten soon..maybe in a week or so

the second stage..A STEP AHEAD
if the first stage is all set and clear....then this is where some in fact, all the seriousness takes over the little common sense that was left! the guy and even so the gal (m still not sure) are both serious for each other..at least the guy is. so the serious love story begins. now its not as simple as it looks guys..this is where all the twists and turns take place. this is where the girl's family, maybe her dad (bad luck!) or her sister or her brother (again bad luck!) find out about her alleged affair. and they decide to lock her cell up or even her up..and if u'r not lucky, even get u locked up and beaten up too..(remember nitish katara and bharti yadav..and ya, vikas yadav;)..boy, zinda bach gaye to kismat!)...!!! guys dont have this problem, at least not this much..but the gal has..and not just that, there'll be her carreer (suddenly ye kaha se a gaya!!), her sisters marriage, her dad's transfer..and what not...and so u have a big speed breaker in ur love story..
the guy is desperate, the gal is too (hmmmm..) and in this desperateness, the gal breaks up (the guy wont ever do it, not at this point). she ofcourse has this thing called pressure frm her family and blah blah..there'd be thousand reasons she'd give you..maybe even cry (really or what, ur guess!!) so the love story has every possibility of a teary eyed ending here..guys wont give up yet..atleast not for the next one month..they'll keep calling tha gal and one fine day, she'll change her no.! ;) (guys, watch pyar ke side effects!! nice movie..:)..yaad agaya to bol diya..)

the third stage..LOVE ACTUALLY
if u are able to pull through that stormy 2nd one and the gals still with u, despite the family pressure...congratulate yourself guys..the girl has indeed fallen for you..she is all yours..hmmm more or less..u become the closest of couples around..do whatever u wish too (ya..whatever! with mutual agreement, though;) ) life's cool and good..
and if this stage is over too, that is u have commited yourself to the relationship...then to beta bhagwaan bachaye tumhe..;) now, i cant say anything, my experience, or the lack of it, gives way here guys..how you proceed next (after the third stage) is something u should tell me too, so i could add it to my post! :)

DISCLAIMER: the views presented in this space are MINE and only mine..original and copywrited..u can ignore them at ur own risk, though!

NOTE: this post was not meant to be written to draw any kind of conclusions...this is the result of 2 weeks of vella panti at home..u come up with crazy ideas...and this is just the beginning..abhi to 2 mahine pade hain..!!

one night @ the hostel...

so the other day i decided to spent the night in the hostel. it was the second day at troika-our tech fest and i had participated in one of the events that day. so after spending a gruelling 4 hours in front of a computer(...doing nothing ;)... and man, that IS tough), i decided i needed a break. so i thought of staying back for the night in the hostel in the hope of having some fun, which i always do when in hostel. i asked a dear friend a.k.s. to stay up with me, and he was more than willing. and thank god, another dear friend, n.a. didn't stay with us and left for his home. you know, u can always do without a whining friend;)

not knowing what we were going to do, me and a.k.s. went to our friend a.a.'s room. that was to be our shelter for the night. not wanting to sit in front of a comp again, at least for the moment, we left for the sec.16 market in search for some good vcds, for the night. unfortunately, we couldn't find any(good ones), and had to return empty handed. so then, after spending some time at the type-5 canteen( thats outside SNH;) ..we had ho have some entertainment..!), we decided to return, sharing our sorrows of not having a date on that valentines day :(

at hostel, i found out that another friend, the devil a.l. was also satying up in the same hostel. very soon, i was to discover that this very "fiend" was to be the cause of my misery that night. anyways, we had our supper at the mess. for a change, the food that night was good! then we went to our room, hoping that some arrangement of a movie would be made. but that was not to be. aberrantly, no one in the hostel was willing to take their hard disks out, so we could exchange a movie or two. this was because of a recent incident in which a hosteler's hard drive blew up and smoked gas!!!

so with nothing to do, we started watching "friends", season 6. episode after episode, watched it till 4 in the morning. and just as we were going to sleep, that devil, a.l. called. i regret having picked up his call. he had no place to sleep...and he bumped into our room. we were already 2 of us on a single bed. now we were 3! a.a. had gone to some other room. i was sleeping in between those two, and remained in one position for the rest of the night. there was just the one pillow and one blanket. and, after sometime both were occupied by that bastard a.l. what we were left with, was the swarm of mosquitoes in the room. there was no fan, no all-out, no coil!!! , and my mom says my blood is sweet...!!!!!!!! i found it out that night! the buzzing was so exasperating... the only reason i did not kick(read kill) a.l. was because of my good nature, it seems!

unable to bear it, i got up at 5. and went out. a.k.s. got up at 6. a.l., the sadist, the reprobate, was sleeping peacefully!!! "friends" followed again. till 8. till my eyes were feeling heavy again. i was not going to give in this time. it was MY turn to sleep now. i woke that dog up from his bed, and slept for the next two hours. my longest and best sleep.

aur mohe tu rang de basanti yaara, mohe tu rang de basanti...

thodi si dhuul meri, dharti ki mere watan ki
thodisi Khushbuu baurai se mast pavan ki
thodisi dhondhane waali dhak-dhak dhak-dhak dhak-dhak saansein
jin mein ho junoon junoon voh boonde laal lahuu ki
yeh sab tuu mila mila le, phir rang tuu khila khila le
aur mohe tuu rang de basanti, yaara
mohe tuu rang de basanti

do you feel the rush, of adrenaline? i sure do. what a movie. a class act. one of the best hindi flicks i've seen in recent times. rang de.. lives up to every ounce of its pre-release hype, although, i must admit i was apprehensive about the movie's success, after the debacle of mangal pandey. the background score is excellent and so are ALL the songs. the best is roobaroo, and its timing is awesum. listen to its lyrics, and you'll know why.

if the first half reminds you of the fun and masti of dch(dil chahta hai), the second half is the patriotism minus jingoism of sarfarosh. a group of 5, DJ, karan, aslam, sukhi and soniya are the typical fun loving DUites. the kind of masti they have is what everyone dreams of. then enters sue, a british, who wants to make a movie on the life of the indian revolutionaries. the intersection of the two movies is amazing. DJ is the typical modern punjabi. his behen di taki dialogues are sure to haunt you. sukhi is the neo-haryanavi. aslam a central delhite, muslim. modern in HIS outlook, but not his family's. and my favourite(of course after DJ), karan-the rich kid. he is the surprise package of the film. soniya is the sweet girl in the gang. and the gori-sue is oh-so beautiful! the guys just wanna have fun. like all of us.

is desh ka kuch nahi ho sakta

is what they think. like all of us.

and then there is the pilot, ajay rathore, whose death in a mig-21 crash is the essence of the movie. the incident is enough to change their mindset. and they decide to bring about a change. a much needed change.

is desh me 2 hi tarike hain jeene ke. ek, jo ho raha hai, use sahan karte raho. kuch mat kaho. dusra, khade ho. badlo, apne aap ko, aas-paas ko.

is what they think now. and they decide to opt for the second one. like all of us? i doubt(me included).

when are we going to stand up guys. when? are we going to, ever? or is it just when a movie like this comes up once in a while, we'll resolve to do something for the country, and forget it the very next moment.

no country is perfect, YOU have to make it perfect.

lets try and make our country perfect. the least we can do is (no cliche, this) stop corruption. and from the movie's point of view, vote wisely, and do VOTE. its our country guys, our government. we have to decide who rules it.

hey, and all those of you, who haven't still seen the movie(can't believe that!!!), do yourself a favour and watch it today.

i had nothing to do...

and people talk of the so called 'dilli ki sardi'! i, for one, am seriously dissapointed. a two day chill doesn't qualify as winter. barring, the last sunday and monday when temeratures dropped to 0.2 and 1.4 deg C respectively, the season was not that cold after all. although i fell seriously ill during this 'winter', twice(the 'chill' did it into me!), i was actually hoping for (now, this might seem farfetched) a little snow...if dubai can get it, why not delhi! but all i got to see was some frost. now, 15 days into january, the temperatures have risen to 27 deg C, during the daytime. it seems so hot these days. and people talk of the so called 'dilli ki sardi'!

anyways, college has started and quite amazingly i witnessed a class going on on the first day itself! now, this might sound quite normal elsewhere, but we in DCE are actually not used to it. on the contrary, our classes don't begin(we don't let them to!) until after a whole first week of bunk!

quite interestingly, we have got an amazing bunch of teachers and equally amazing subjects. the ghosts of 'communications' have raised their ugly heads again(i'm actually feeling scared guys...the subject took the hell out of me in 4th sem). and our teachers. the less i say, the better. there's one of them, who would so innocently say, "agar aap log bore ho rahe ho, to mujhe please bata de", and would not even think of stepping out of the class(even if we tell him to stop) before he has taught us every single second of the 2 hours(!!!) alloted to him. this guy is quite a character. he tells us to sit in the correct posture(sit straight, if you lean, he'll catch you) in his classroom(all through the 2 hrs!!!). he tells us to make notes(thats compulsary) and in a full blodded register(no diaries will do!!!)!!! no mobiles, no talking, nothing allowed. man, give us a break!

today was preety cool. different from other days. preparing for the cat in a group is actually very cool. six of us today indulged ourselves in a gd. and thanks to a friend among us, we couldn't gd, as he was hell bent on some information he had, and we differed! no one gave up! (it was such a silly topic, i better not tell). so that was our first gd! hopefully, things would be better the next time. and then someone came up with this very interesting idea. each of us would tell(publicly) one bad and one good quality about everyone else. and quite amazingly, all we could come up was with 100 vices and 0 virtues :) for everyone. we had to think very hard for the virtues. typically human, i would say. but it was fun. a pool(billiards) session followed and i lost dismally! anyways, a pretty different(read cool) day for me.
